Washington day three and everything in between

Wow I know I have been slacking! Summer has been so busy for us. We had the Williams family rodeo last week. It was crazy and fun. You never realize how much work goes into it until you are right in the thick of it. There seemed to be a big change this year and it was kinda sad to see. After dinner the kids did all the games that I set up. A big shout out to Kolton, Mckenzie and Kelsie for helping me with them. The rodeo started at about 8:00, a little later than usual. It was fun watching the kids ride the sheep and a bunch of the guys formed groups of four to a team to try and rope a cow and ride it around the arena. After that is was starting to get dark so Mindy only had time to do a couple of games. Then that was about it, about 9:30-10:00 pretty much everyone left! The only person that rode a cow was Galen's worker! I was so disappointed and sad to see that the rodeo is slowly dwindling away.

Lucas is such a funny duck. Lately he has learned to throw away his own diapers. He loves to do it and loves the praise we give him after he does it. When he is on his way to the garabge he makes sure we are watching him and then after he throws it away he starts to clap his hands. Well the other day I came in from being outside and went to throw something away and saw three clean, new diapers in the trash can. It made me laugh but I hope that he dosen't start throwing everything away now!

Anyway, back to the Washington trip. Day three was one of the best. All the family got shuttled over to Jame's Island for the day. We hung out on the beach, hiked around the island and played some killer games of capture the flag (well capture life vest). During one game, it was girls agianst guys. I headed over to the beach to change Lucas' diaper. After I did that I realized where their life vest was and the no one was around it so I sneaked up and grabbed it, only to realize it was secured around a rock. As I' am trying to get the dang thing off the guys see me and start running for me. I take off at a dead sprint and I' am almost across to our boundary. I see Jennifer and she is yelling throw it, throw it! So I throw it and realize crap I can't stop. Needless to say Jennifer and I both went down. I felt so bad for tackling her and trace to brace her fall. Good thing she had a good attitude about it! Hey at least we won right?? That was the most part of our day three adventure!
