A scary one...

Today I went in for my weekly appointment and my blood pressure was 160/102.....just a little high. I was put on a stress test to see how the baby was doing and the baby was doing good. My Dr. comes in and tells me that he is going to admit me to the hospital and say's if my blood pressures go down then I will come in a couple of days but if they stay in the 160/100 range then he would deliver me tomorrow. Yikes!! It takes a while for it to sink in that hey you might be having your baby tomorrow. During this time of course I was nervous wreck but I felt at peace and felt that things would be ok. So I get a wheelchair escort over to labor and delivery and get hooked up to a baby moniter and a blood pressure cuff. The nice nurse takes my blood pressure and it is already down to 140/80. Thirty minutes later it is taken again and is 127/78! I had two more readings in the next hour that were like that as well. The Doc comes around and tells me that since my blood pressure went down and there was not even a trace of protien in my 24 hour test that I would be able to go home! ***big sigh*** The Doc wants to try and get me to 38 weeks so we will just keep plugging along. I' am now on strict bed rest but I know it is totally worth it. So anyway that was my scary experience for the day! I' am glad to be home and have an awesome husband who takes really good care of me. Also thanks everybody for all the phone calls, it really helps to know that you have great family and friends who care for you. Love you all. :)

Baby Update

Last week I went in for a routine checkup at 34 weeks. My blood pressure was taken and was 140/82. They were pretty concerned about it and I ended up doing a stress test and had my amniotic fluid measured. I also asked the P.A. who I was with if I was going to be able to have a VBAC, she told me that I didn't dialiate very well so she wasn't going to make me any promises and that I would need to talk to a Dr. about it next time I came in. It is pretty hard to hear that you may never get the chance to have a "normal" delivery. I was pretty upset about it after my appointment. I talked to a couple of people after wards about it and I love them but they did not make me feel any better.:) Some of the responses I got was "you feel cheated and like something is wrong with you or broken when you can't have a normal delievery" and " ohh I would be devestated to hear that." Don't worry I wasen't mad that they said these things, I think I was just not in the right frame of mind to hear them. Anyway, the more I thought about it, I realized that I was viewing this from the wrong direction. More than anything I want a healthy baby! If this baby has to come into this world via c-section then that is ok with me. I was also freaking out about not being able to have as many kids as I want to because of c-sections and also realized that I will have as many kids as Heavenly Father wants me to have. He knows how many we need to have and will provide a way.
So today I went back in and once agian my blood pressure was a little high 140/90. They did an ultrasound to make sure the baby is growing and according to the ultrasound the baby now weighs 6 lbs 9 oz and is measuring a couple weeks father along than I'am. The nurse told me that weight could be a pound off either direction but it was nice to see that my baby is growing and very healthy! I asked the Dr. about having a vbac and he told me in order to have a vbac I will have to go into labor on my own, the don't induce vbacs. He said I would be able to have one if I went on my own and my blood pressure stayed where it is and dosen't get into the 160/100 range. So we will see. I' am just grateful that I don't have preeclampsia and that I will probably go full term and be able to take my baby home instead of having my baby in the NICU for a month. So as of now, I' am laying low and trying to stay down as much as possible to keep my blood pressure in check.
I really appreciate everyone for asking how things are and checking in on me. I have some awesome family and friends and I love you all.
