Thanksgiving and All In Between

What a week! We left Wednesday night and traveled to Clifton to spend Thanksgiving with my family. We had a grand ol feast, played a little Bunco, volleyball and ate a variety of pies. It was really neat to have all my family, expect my brother Jeremy, there. I know it was nice for my parents to have everyone come to them instead of them always having to travel. We love to go and visit family but there is one tiny pitfall; Lucas tends to keep us and anyone else in the house up in the wee hours of the morning. Lets just say we had a couple of rough nights but it was worth it:) Friday morning us women decided to do some shopping, we arrived in Logan at about 7:00. It was fun and I got some good deals but man I had to take a nap afterwards:) I' am glad Steve stayed back with Lucas, there was a ton of people and it was a little crazy.
Saturday morning we trekked up to Idaho Falls so we could see Bryan, Clair and Olliver before they go back to Connecticut. Little Ollie is so dang cute and such a happy go lucky kid. It was fun to see everyone even if it was for a couple of hours. Today on our way home Steve's mom, Susan took some more x-rays of Lucas. It does look like he did end up having a fracture in his femur bone. We could see the new bone growth around the areas so that pretty much confirmed it. I feel so bad for him. I have broken a bone and I know how painful it can be. He has been such a trooper and is walking on it more every day. We are going to talk to the Doc's tomorrow and make sure there is nothing else we should be doing. We don't think he will have to have a cast so that is good news because it would be a full body cast and that doesn't sound fun for any of us. I' am just glad that he is healing fast and will be back to his adventurous self in no time:)
We are now home and I can honestly say there is no place like home. I' am truly blessed that I get to spend the holidays with the people that I love and create memories that I will always remember. Hope everyone had a good one! On Thanksgiving we were by a playground and these are some of the only pics I got of our hectic weekend.

Lucas's Latest

Last Friday I was at my sister Staci's house hanging out after going shopping. Lucas loves to go there and recieves tons of attention and play time from five girls. He was playing and then all of a sudden I hear him crying. I go and pick him up and realize I have never heard him cry like this before. After about 20 minutes of hard crying he finally settled down but I could tell something was not right. I tried getting him to walk to Staci and when he didn't put any pressure on his left leg, I realized it was time to call Steve. So I called Steve and told him what happened and he told me to go to Wendell and have the Doc look at it. Staci drives me over and Lucas starts falling asleep in the car. I' am a little freaked out b/c I didn't see him fall and wasen't sure if he hit his head and was suffering a concussion so it really scared me when he fell asleep. We got to Wendell and the Doc said there was no apparent break and might as well wait until the morning to go get X-rays. He set us up with some good pain medicine for Lucas and we went home. I' am so grateful at times like this that my husband is in the medical field, I know it reassures me that he know what is going on and what is the best treatment.
The next morning we took Lucas in and had X-rays. He still cried whenever we moved his leg so I thought for sure it was broken. Luckily though, the radiologist said that nothing was broken. I can only imagine what a full leg cast would be like.
So now we are waiting it out to see if it heals. It seems to get a little better everyday but he is still very sore. We are hoping he starts walking by Monday but I can tell it still hurts him to move his left leg. We are thinking he might have twisted his leg just right and strained a muscle or some fibers in his hip/groin area. I guess time will tell. Steve was reading about it and it says it takes anywhere from 10-14 days to heal.
It is a little different not having him running around like he used to and carrying him everywhere. It is like a having a baby again expect he is a really big and heavy :) I know it is really hard for him as well. We really appreciate everyone's calls and concern for our little guy and for all the help we have received. If any one has any fun ideas on what to do while not moving let me know!
Some other news is that we all went to my Dr's appointment last Tuesday and heard baby #2's heartbeat. It was fun to have Lucas there and a little funny to see the look on his face when he heard the heartbeat. I' am grateful however that I don't have to take him to all of my appointments, he was all over the place! This pregnancy is going by fast and I can't believe I' am nearing the end of my fourth month.

HaLloWeEn

We had a very crazy fun filled Halloween this year. We had a party over at our house again and transformed our garage into a party. One of the things I love about living in Gooding is all the good friends we have. We kicked off the evening to eating some really good food (and way too much) and then played some fun (and sometimes a little interesting) games:) I hope everyone had fun, I know we did!

hunting

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to go hunting with my dad, one of my brothers and his sons. The last time I went deer hunting was 11 years ago, right when I turned 12, fresh out of hunters education. That was before makeup, boys, and high school became a huge factor in my life. I was so excited to finally be able to go with my dad. Some of my favorite memories I have with my dad have been while we have been hunting and I will never forget them. I have always grown up with the influence of hunting in my home. If any of you have ever been in my parents house you realize that hunting is very prominent in our family.( he has a moose head, deer head and antelope head in the living room)
Anyway back to this year. My dad told me that there was a hunt around where he lived and wanted me to go with him. I was actually excited to go again and wanted to spend some time with my dad. I do have to admit, it was a lot easier this time around. We got to sleep in warm beds and get up early and drive to where we started. Last time we camped and it was freezing. I guess that is one of the benefits of living so close to the mountains. ( Clifton, ID) I hope someday we can live in a place near by or like it. We had a great time and even though my nephew Tyler got a bigger buck than me:) it is a cherished memory that I will always have.
I know I plan to put my children through hunters education and take them hunting. Not only for the good times we will have but for the opportunity to learn how to use a gun and how to obtain food by themselves.

Why women hate sports

Both Evynn and Amber have tagged me on this one so I figured I had better do it:)

1. You know those box of chocolates you get at Valentines? Well I have to go through and try a little bite of each one of them to see which ones are the really good ones:)

2. I usually take a glass of water to bed with me each night and leave the cup there for days. I end up having 5-7 glasses there before I realize I should probably pick them up:)

3. My husband reminds me of this one; I squeeze the toothpaste out of the middle, top, bottom, anywhere I can get some toothpaste and I always loose the tops to them.

4. I hate clutter on my computer desk and table, especially little gadgets ( phones, chargers, i pod, etc) and bills that Steve leaves on there:) Love ya Hon!

5. I like my bed to be made before I go to bed. I seem to sleep better when the sheets and comforter are neat. This about the only time I make my bed:)

6. I have to read my scriptures or some sort of church material before I go to bed, even if it is really late. It is a habit I have always had and it calms me before I sleep.

7. Last but not least, my husband also reminded me of this one and yes I' am a little embarrassed but I drink my milk out of the jug occasionally. I buy two gallons of milk, one for me and the other for Steve and Lucas.
