To Bone and Back!

This was my second year running to Bone and Back and I loved it! Steve and I had to get creative with making time for running. I just want to say thanks to Kristen and Evyn for watching Lucas many mornings so I could get my runs in and then for running with me even though they didn't really want to:) For those of you who don't know about To Bone and Back just know this, it is not your usual "fun" run. It starts in the city of Idaho Falls and then winds it way up into the surrounding mountains. It is a total of 40 miles. I was on a team of eight people who each ran five miles. Some people even do the whole thing! I think I will definitely stick to five miles:)
This year I decided to leg 5, coming out of Bone country. It went pretty good. The first couple of miles were downhill or level, then I hit the hills and realized that maybe I ran a little too fast at the beginning. I was trying to get my time under 40 min. but ended up doing it in 40 minutes. All in all it was a great leg and I would do it again.
Steve decided to do leg 7, which is all downhill. He did so awesome and did it 35 minutes! He was smoking! It is so fun to run together as a team and cheer each other on. It really helps to see your team at the top of the hill giving you motivation to go a little further.
We had a great time this year and hopefully we can do it next year!

Palmer Reunion

We had such a great weekend! It was our annual Palmer reunion and this year my sister Staci was in charge. We ended up having it at Twin Lakes in Clifton Idaho. It was such a beautiful spot and the weather was great. We arrived late Thursday night towing my sister's boat with her Yukon. We ended up taking my sister Angie and her daughter Andrea along with us so it was so nice to have a bigger vehicle. Our poor little Jeep was stuffed to the max, looks like it might be time to get a bigger one!
Friday morning Lucas woke us up and was so excited that we were in a new place. He hurried and went and got his shoes to go outside. We ended up boating a lot on Friday and I tried knee boarding for the first time and loved it! Lucas loved being outside every minute and having all his nieces and nephews constantly around him and praising him. Friday night we went to Lava area and went on a Horse ride that took us in the mountains. It was so beautiful and green. After we got aways into the mountains we stopped and had some homemade BBQ beef, corn, baked beans, salad and dessert. The food was great and there was a little western playground for the kids to play on. On the way home I was thinking how awesome it was to have most of my family there (minus some nieces and nephews) and how I want to be with them forever. Every family is unique and mine definitely is.
Saturday some of us took a 4-wheeler/motorbike ride into the mountains. I thought it would be fun to take Lucas along with us. He wasn't too excited about wearing a helmet but he did pretty good. It was a pretty long trip but worth it. When you get to the top you can look down and see the whole valley. Lucas was so tuckered out that he fell asleep on the ride home. It was kinda scary b/c Melissa was driving and I' am sitting on the back holding Lucas while he is sleeping.:)
We ended up doing some more boating that day and we even got Steve out on the three man tube. He was out there with Tyler and Zach and I swear his mouth was open the whole time yelling. It was so funny to watch. My sister even managed to flip them which is really hard with the three man tube. I just want to thank Steve for being such a good dad and husband. He really helped me out with Lucas this weekend and I really appreciate it. Love you Steve!
Later that night we told stories around the campfire of our favorite memories that our family has had. It was such a great weekend and I was kinda scared to take Lucas home after he had all the stimulation, thinking he would be sad that he had no little buddies around and wasn't outside all the time. He has done good so far so I must not be that bad:) Thanks to Staci for putting the family reunion together!

Cupcakes anyone??

Wow, lets just say this weekend was fun but I' am glad it's over! My friend Brittnee wanted to do a bake sale to help fight childrens hunger so she asked for some help and lets just say I baked over 100 cupcakes! We actually ended up doing pretty good for a small town and for the time we had to put it together. Some of my neices came for the weekend to be my helpers. They were a lot of fun. They came on Thursday night and helped me with last minute things and we played a fun game of spoons. Man that game can get a little violent! Needless to say, I ended up staying up until 1:00am painting signs for the bake sale, thanks Hannah for staying up with me and for your help! Friday I was in charge of selling at the swimming pool. We got there about 1pm and nobody came until the pool break at 3:00. It was such a nice day to be outside and Lucas loved it. Friday night some more of my nieces came so I had a total of six girls at my house. It was so hot we donned on swimsuits and got some water going. I went inside to grab something and all of a sudden I heard the girls screaming. I thought something had happened to Lucas so I rushed outside to find my stupid dog hanging halfway out of his kennel. It was pretty funny to see him there and I helped him get back in. Now though he can climb out of it so we are going to have to find a way for him to stop that. Anyway, that night we played no bears out tonight until midnight. I haven't played that in such a long time! It was a lot of fun. On Saturday some of the girls came with me to the bake sale and got brave and took that signs and danced with them. It sure worked and we got some customers! All in all it was a great weekend. My house was a complete mess at the end of it but at least we all had a great time! I think as we get older we sometimes forget how much fun it is to play, I hope I never forget. Well my sister has told me many times that my blog needs an update so I' am taking her advice. Things have been good here in the little town of Gooding. Last weekend we went to IF and saw the Williams'. We had such a good time and it was awesome to see our new little nephew Olliver. We are going to miss Bryan, Clair and Ollie but wish them the best of luck and much happiness in Connecticut.

This past week some of my nieces and nephews came and stayed with us for a couple of days. It is always fun to have them stay with us. I think Lucas also loves all the extra attention and love. On Monday we went down to Niagra Springs. My sister Staci came with her troop and we had a good time. The water is so cold that it takes a while for your body to go numb before you can stand it. Well I thought it would be fun to show everyone a spot where you jump in and then you slide between two rock on the current. So we were at the spot and Ashley and I jumped over to the other side of the rock and was seeing if we wanted to do it or not. As I was looking down I realized that it is about 5-6ft deep and was having second thoughts. Well right as I was having that second thought my sweet niece pushed me from behind and I went head first into the freezing water. My sister said she wishes she would have had the video camera on the catch my expression. She also said that I came up cussing but I don't remember that! Well after I got out Ashley knew she made a big mistake and was saying sorry as I' am trying to get her into the water. She finally succumbed and went in. The water isn't too bad after you get the initial shock of the first time you jump in. Well everyone ended up going down the little waterslide and we had a fun time. Ashley you sure got me good! I can't believe my little guy is walking! It is so fun to watch him as he tries to run. It has to be a challenge balancing on those two little feet!

Fun weekend

We had a great weekend and got a ton of yard work done! I' am going to get the grass planted this week so I' am crossing my fingers and hoping it works:) I just want to thank Steve for helping me even though I know he would rather do other things, especially when he works all day. It sure goes by faster when you have two people working on a project. We also went out on Saturday night and played paint ball. Steve wrote more about it in his blog. It was a ton of fun. I was kinda nervous at the beginning but after the first time I got hit, I was like oh that isn't too bad:) The last time I went paint balling was with my brother Ryan when I was 12 so it had been a while. I knew Steve would love it if we went so I went primarily for him but ended up having a great time. I' am already looking forward to the next time we go.
