Taylor's blessing

We blessed Taylor on June 7th . She wore the same blessing dress that I wore when I was blessed. It is pretty neat being able to pass down something like that to her. A lot of my nieces have worn it as well so it is pretty amazing it has lasted this long:)
Both Steve and I have pretty big families so we had a big crowd. I was worried that it was going to rain but it ended up being somewhat nice. It sure is crazy trying to plan a big meal for that many people! I don't know how my mother in law caters every weekend!
Steve gave a wonderful blessing. I love that my husband is able to use the priesthood for our family and give blessings. I know it was a real comfort to have them when I was pregnant with Taylor and when my dad used to give them too me. Now to see Taylor start receiving them is truly wonderful.
Thanks to all our family who came and to my friends who came and helped out, I loved having everyone there. Love you all!

Taylor's Tuesdays

My baby is one month old today! I think that your second child seems to grow so much faster than the first one and you can't believe how fast time seems to go by. Taylor is doing well. Last week she caught a head cold and I was pretty nervous since she was only three weeks old. She has been sleeping for six hours at night so when she was waking up every couple of hours squirming and acting uncomfortable, I knew she wasn't acting her normal self. I took her to the Doc and he said she probably caught a virus but just to make sure he prescribed her some ammoxicillian. That day she seemed to be a bit better and it helped when I used nasal saline about every three hours. The next day she seemed so much better and slept great again so I decided not to start the antibiotic and she got over it on her own thankfully.
She is growing like crazy and is such a great baby. She likes to sleep on her stomach and loves to cuddle.

Lucas helping daddy make some hash browns, what a good little helper:)

Flooding

Growing up in the country of Jerome I never experienced watering by means of flood irrigation. I remember going down to my Grandpa's in Orem Utah and hope he would be flooding his lawn! It was like a mini lake everywhere! When we moved to Gooding, a mere 20 miles away from Jerome, I was surprised to learn that they flood irrigated here. Today was the first time we have watered and to me it is a kick off for summer! I think Lucas will have a lot of fun with it this year. He was a little hesistant today because the water was cold and it wasent't a hot summer day. He also would get stuck in the mud and yell to be rescued. It is fun watching your kids explore new things.

Taylor's Tuesdays

Two Weeks Old!

Oh sweet child of mine! I can't believe it has been two weeks! It seems like Tay is growing so fast already! She has started being more awake during the day and is still sleeping really well. She is a night owl like Steve and I and loves to sleep in! Now only if we could get Lucas to sleep in :) Lucas loves his little sister and likes to give her hugs. I still don't think he quite understands the whole big and small concept b/c I have to keep reminding him that he is too big to lay on Taylor:) Here's to another good week!
Also, little side note. We watched the movie Fireproof the other night and I want to recommend it to everyone. Sure the acting is cheesy but I loved the concept of it. I don't want to ruin the movie but it is about a couple who is contemplting divorce. The dad of the guy asks him to take this 40 day love challenge before he signs the papers. I better stop there.:) It is pretty cool because they have a website that you can go to and also take the challenge. Anyways check it out!

One week old

So a friend of mine just had her baby recently and is posting a weekly picture of her new baby and I loved the idea so I hope she doesn't mind that I' am going to do it too:) The first week has gone really well. Taylor is such a good baby. She eats really well and for the past two nights she has slept for five hours straight, eats and then goes back to sleep. Lucas has had kinda a hard week. This past weekend he started getting a fever and seems to finally be over it now. Hopefully he will be in a better mood now that he feels better. He is doing really good with Taylor. He dosen't have too much to do with her now but probably will when she gets a little older:) So without further ado here are Taylor's first week pictures.

Taylor Lynn Williams

Oh where to start?? Well I guess I will begin last Monday. I had an appointment last Monday and found out I was dilated to a three and 75 % effaced. The Dr. stripped my membranes again in hopes that it would help me go into labor. He told me if I didn't go into labor on my own this week then I would have a c-section that next Monday at 7:30am. I had a good feeling about everything and thought to myself, "hey I have a week, I can go into labor this week."
That night I started getting some Braxton Hicks contractions but they felt a little stronger than I have experienced them before. That night I continued to get them about every 45 min. I woke up the next morning around five, got ready and realized that this was it, I really was going into labor! I was so excited but I wanted to make sure that I didn't go in too early. I waited another hour to get Steve and Lucas up and we made our way to Jerome to drop Lucas off at my sisters. I thought that maybe I would hang out at my sisters for a while but by the time we got there my contractions were getting stronger and were three to five minutes apart. We headed straight to Twin and got to the hospital around seven. They checked me and I was dilated to a four and still 75% effaced. An hour later the Dr. broke my water, I was a five and the baby had started making her way down the birth canal. I then got an epidural, which was absolutely wonderful, I don't know how women do it without it! An hour after the epidural she checked me again and I was dialted to a 9 1/2 and she said the baby was only a couple inches away. We were all surprised that everything was progressing so well and quickly. The nurse told me even though I was so close that we still could have a couple hours of pushing since I had a "virgin vagina" and have never given birth before. I just nodded and thought ok I still have a while. The nurse wanted to do a couple of practice pushes just to help me get the feel of it. We did one practice push and she then looked at me and said ok stop pushing I need to go get the Dr. now! He came up a couple minutes later and I started pushing. Five pushes later I had my baby! It went so well and was such a beautiful experience. I' am so grateful for Heavenly Father and I know he had his hand in this. I know he listened to my prayers and helped me to have the experience I desired.
When Taylor was born she didn't immediately cry. Which was good because when they broke my water there was some meconium in it. They said this was pretty common and it was good that I was having her today. After they suctioned her out she let out a good yell. They cleaned her up and made sure she was breathing good. She weighed 8 lbs 1 oz and was 20 1/2 in. long. I then got to hold her. She latched right on and I immediately fell in love. What an experience this was. I have loved being pregnant and knowing there was a life inside of me. I' am so grateful I was able to carry her so far and have everything go well. Taylor is doing really good and it is so nice to be at home. I'm thankful for all the support my family and friends have given me, I don't know how I would get a long without them. It is still hard to believe I now have two kiddos but I' am excited for this new adventure.

What's Been Happening Lately

Ok another quick update on baby: went to the Dr. today and my blood pressure was down from 160/100 to 140/90! Still elevated but hey I will take it! The baby is looking good and everything seems to be going well. I have been seeing the same Dr. now for the past couple of weeks and that has really helped. ( The place I go to has six OBGYN's and three P.A.'s and they try to rotate you through all of them unless you request a certain doc) He say's we will just keep going as long as things don't get worse and hopefully I will be able to deliever the baby naturally. They cannot induce vbac's due to the high risk so I will have to go on my own in order to have a vbac. It is nice to have a Dr. that is willing to work with you and has the same goals. I' am still on bed rest but hey I only have 2 1/2 weeks at the longest to go! I' am glad that I have made it this far and have a really good feeling about whatever happens. I have been staying at my sister's during the week and it has been such a blessing. She has a four year old daughter who plays really well with Lucas so it makes it a lot easier for me to stay down when he is happy:) I also appreciate my sister being a homebody with me, I know it is not easy for her especially when she is running her six kids around. Steve's mom also came up last weekend and it was nice having her here. I also have many good friends who have helped me with Lucas and one of them even came a cleaned my house! It just feels good to have a clean house! I' am sure grateful for all my family and friends who call me to see how everything goes at all my dr. appointments. I know that being on bedrest and staying at my sisters has been hard on Steve, he is ready for me to have the baby and have us back together, he has been a great support and I sure love him. Thanks everyone! Well here are some latest pictures of my little man. He has been such a good boy through this all and I love him so stinkin much, kids truly are such a blessing and bring so much joy to my life.
