Valentines

I know I know, I have been slacking on posting for a while but baby there will be plenty of new posts now so be checking back often:)
Valentines was awesome this year! I got some fun ideas from my sister Staci. Valentines has never really been that big of a deal to me but this year I wanted to make it a little special:)
I saw this mailbox idea on a blog where she bought little mailboxes (in the dollar area of target) and decorated them all cutsie. She put them out the week before Valentines and each morning would put a little something in them. I loved this idea but was at a loss as to what I should put in them. I came up with the idea to do the five senses of Valentines. Each morning Steve would check his mailbox to see what sense he would experience for that day. It was a ton of fun and I think I will make this a tradition every Valentines day.
Valentines day morning Steve let me sleep in (which is a great present:) Lucas came in and brought me a rose with some candy hearts. I also love getting the box of chocolates! I love tasting a little of each one:) Later on that day we had an amazing race for the guys. I also got this idea from a website that I can't find now. The rules were that they had to surrender all the money in their wallets and had to video tape and take a picture at each stop to prove that they did it. We gave them a bag of money worth one to two dollars in coins to use for one of the stops.

Here were the clues;

( We had a bunch of paper, a picture of each of them and other stuff to use to make us a card, they turned out really cute, we were impressed!)

Where it used to be so cool
To run, jump and play
three times a day
find your next clue here
it's elementary my dear
( had to do an obstacle course through playground)

Now onto your last stop,
Somewhere Jaime goes a lot
if your really thrifty
it can be pretty nifty
We gave you a bit of money
find something sweet for your honey!
( went to a thrift store and bought us a gift with the change we gave them, I got some sweet smelling potpourri :)

Later on we went to a dinner/dance and had a blast. A group of us dressed up all fancy and went all out. It was a great Valentines this year and look forward to making each one as memorable:)

Our computer has had issues as of lately so that is why I haven't been able to get on. After a couple of calls to customer service and HP, they are sending us a new video card and hopefully that will fix the problem.

Anyway, I don't know about all of you but I' am ready for January to be over! This month has seemed to drag on and on. I think I get used to the hussle of all the holidays and then January hits and everything seems to go in slow motion. Maybe I' am just getting a little cabin fever:)

Last night was Lucas' first night in a toddler bed. I have been debating over putting him in one or keeping him in the crib. I decided I might as well try it and see how it goes. There are a not many things that get me all riled up but assembling furniture/stuff really gets my temper flaring. Note to self: Just let Steve do it.:)
Night 1: Lucas slept all through the night but did wake up around 6:15, a little early. All in all it went really well so hopefully it continues that way.

Here is a video we were able to catch of our funny guy. When Lucas shoots and misses it sounds like he says, "oh s**t!" As you can see we thought it was the funniest thing, oops on our part:) Make sure you scroll down to the bottom of the page and turn off my music so you can hear it.

Ultrasound

Last Thursday we had an ultrasound done. As this pregnancy has progressed I also seem to progress in my nervousness. I was particularly nervous this morning and had Steve give me a blessing. I felt much better after wards and was reminded once again I need to have a little faith and trust in my Heavenly Father.
Everything went well, I' am measuring right on my due date and the baby is measuring in the 47th percentile range. The baby kicked and squirmed the whole time and did not like being pushed around:) He (we will just say he) has his head down by my bladder. I knew some part was down there putting all that pressure on it! It was fun to see the baby and know that everything is going good. When the nurse was taking 4D ultrasound pics of the face it looked like the baby had chubby cheeks:) Also, right when the nurse walked in we told her that we didn't want to find out what we were having so she made sure to steer clear of that area:)

The next day,Friday, was My niece Allison's 4th birthday. We went over to this new place called "Hop It." This place has a lot of blow up toys and is a fun place for kids. Lucas had a ball and loved running around with all the kids, although I had to run around everywhere with him because some schools were let out early and there was a lot of older kids there who had a hard time waiting on a little two year old. Lucas is such a daredevil and a climber, I' am nervous to see how he is as he gets older, I know he will be very active:) By the end of the two hours I was tired but we sure had a fun day!

When Steve first told me that he got the job and that we were moving...I bawled...I was obviously not too excited about moving back to the Magic Valley area. I think I liked living in Idaho Falls because it was a new place and I was also close to school and hoping to finish within the year. I knew in my heart that we were going to where we needed to go but I still wasn't thrilled.
Fast forward two years and my attitude has totally changed. I have come to love this little town, our very old house, the abundance of fruit and gardening, being close to my family, and creating new friendships. We have had many blessings since we have moved here and I think sometimes I overlook them and tend to want more. I hate admitting that but I know it is true. My sister in law sent me an e-mail dealing with this issue. It was about a reunion of people who went to college together. They were all complaining to each other about their jobs, houses, relationships, etc. They went to see an old professor who offered them hot chocolate. Before he poured the hot chocolate he laid out an array of mugs. Some porcelain, crystal, and plain ones. When everyone chose one he said, " notice that all the nice looking, expensive cups were taken, leaving behind the plain and cheep ones. The cup that you are drinking from adds nothing to the quality of the hot chocolate. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink."
"Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the hot chocolate God has provided for us."
This little e-mail really made me stop, slow down, and think of everything that I have. Last night I went out with a bunch of girlfriends and had a blast. Who knew that our little town would have so many young couples all with one or two kids! I' am very grateful for the friends I have and also for the many friends Lucas has. I know if he were to grow up here that he would have good friends, which I think is very important. Most of all I love my best friend, Steve. If it wasn't for him, I don't know where I would be.
Wow, I' am feeling a little emotional today:) It must be those pregnancy hormones kicking in or something:) Hope everyone has a good day.
